G-SHOCK is celebrating its anniversary! To mark the occasion, the brand is updating one of its iconic designs with today's technology, 40 years later.
While remaining true to G-SHOCK's origins, the DW-5000R is innovative and modern. Inheriting the design of the very first G-SHOCK, this model features many functions that allow it to fit into today's world while retaining its original iconic design.
Just like the original model, the case is made of stainless steel and the strap has been reproduced down to the smallest detail: length, shape, and even the position of the perforations. The case size has increased from 41.6 mm to 42.3 mm.
Another nod to G-SHOCK's origins and how far it has come, the bezel and strap are made of resin, like the original, except that it is now bio-based to reduce its environmental impact.
