The Prospex solar quartz Diver's SNE597P1 features a 41 mm diameter case and a stainless steel bracelet. Its black dial is enhanced by an aluminum unidirectional rotating bezel for added intensity. The Seiko V157 caliber is a solar watch displaying the date. Seiko Solar uses a highly efficient solar cell capable of generating energy from all kinds of light, so not just sunlight. This energy is stored in a very small rechargeable battery with a much longer lifespan than conventional batteries. The watch is protected against overcharging. This watch therefore requires almost no maintenance. When fully charged, the V157 caliber has a power reserve of 10 months. If there is a risk of running out of energy, the watch gives a warning by moving the second hand in 2-second increments instead of by the second. The watch features a convenient 'instant start' function. This means that when the watch runs out of energy and there is enough energy (solar), the watch starts immediately and the watch advances the second hand in 2-second increments until the watch has enough energy again.
